Tamarind - 1 lemon size ball
(soaked in water)
Ginger - A large piece
(finely chopped)
Small onions(Kunjulli) - 10 nos
Green chillies - 5 nos
Curry leaves - A bunch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - A pinch
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
Jaggery(Sharkkara) - A small piece or as reqd
Salt - As reqd


1)Heat oil in a pan.

2)Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add chopped ginger, onion, green chillies and curry leaves and fry for sometime.

3)Add chilly powder and turmeric powder and fry, till onion becomes light brown colour.

4)Add the tamarind water and allow to boil, till required consistency is obtained.

5)Add salt and jaggery and stir well.

NB :- Can add little coriander powder for thickness.
